The Flashkit Arena design challenge
The idea of the challenge is to create visually stimulating work based on a monthly theme set by the Arena moderators (myself, Aversion and Jamble) as well as lately some very helpful moderators; such as RUSHVision. It is open to anyone who wishes to enter and the only prize is kudos and a bit of fame - and a possible mention in the FK newsletter (read by over 110k people).
It's great practice and we hope will be a little fun for those, but this time, you have to bring your own theme...
I'm sure we'll be able to get the FK Admin, JStarkey to include the winner each month in the Flashkit newsletter with a link to their work so your graphic will potentially be seen by everyone that reads the newsletter. That is if we get enough participants!
Here we go then:
The Rules
- * 640*480 image size
* no image larger than 130k filesize! link to your file if it's too big!
* .gif's, .png's and .jpg's allowed - please respect filesizes
* images can be rotated - portrait or landscape
* each game will last approximately 1 month
On to the game without further ado...
The Theme for June 2004
BYOT : Participant declares a single word theme per entry.
Yep, that's right. With one word, and only one word, you can declare your own theme, and then make a graphic for it. That's right, you declare the theme. It's a freestyle theme; but remember people... no curse words, bad words (in any language), or explicit or pornographic terms either, mmkay? Those that don't follow this small stipulation risk getting banned, and your entry will be deleted immediately. You can; however, do more than one on each subject or subjects if you so wish - multiple entries are allowed!
Now it's time to show off those skills and now we're going full-speed into this contest, Submissions should be based on your own theme - yep, I'm allowing you to declare the theme of your own image this month due to... well, I felt like it.:
Reminder: Keep it clean folks. Flashkit is a G-Rated/G13 forum!
Please post, link, or upload all entries in this thread for the time being and don't be afraid to enter as many times as you want to, there are strictly speaking no prizes so it doesn't matter if you submit one or three hundred and fifty entries, the aim of it to have a little fun, show some skills and learn a little more about how other people and yourself design within a set theme. All entries should be posted in this thread.
Good luck, please don't be afraid to ask questions if you're not sure about anything!
