    Open Battle: Music Themed

Im really enjoying the Kung-Foo-Free-For-All and was hoping that maybe we could start another one. I was just kinda thinkin that maybe it could be music themed. I know I at least take a lot of inspiration from music and Im sure Im not the only one, and I thought thered be tons of crazy ideas we could come up with. Also, there isnt even a music section within the gallery section.

But... Im kind of a newbie though and didnt want to have the lamest serve in the world so if theres interest maybe I can hop on with a volley.

    So... Whatcha think?

    E

I dig the rules for that battle too:
    • image seze is flexible.
    • image filesize should be kept under 120k at at all times if you plan to use the [*img] embedding otherwise, use [*url] for bigger files.
    • some parts of the previous image have to be used in your volley/image.
    • no people limit.
    • have fun.
(Kaco Rules (Both as in he rules, and these are his rules))

Hey there. There have been other attempts at open battles but they haven't been turning out. Since the rules are the same as kung fu, why not just post on that one, and see where it goes. If people start making music-themed stuff, then great.

But the other open battles have just drowned, and without keeping a limit to the number of volleys it will likely get cluttered.

If others are willing to contribute then by all means i'll support it and maybe it could go somewhere. But there are not enough people active enough in this forum to keep up so many open battles. If you noticed in Pictoral's open battle, my volley was sort of music themed. Things like that can be incorporated into most battles anyway. My prediction is that at best this thread would get 5 volleys and then forgotten. And you never know until you try i guess =)

But hey, I am just one person.

Oh, and don't be afraid to start out with a "bad" serve. If anything, images that are bad help you build on weaknesses. People will accept your contribution to the site very gladly. I think I speak for all of Flashkit when I say that newcomers are very welcome. I'm pretty new myself, and my skills are nothing in comparison to some really talented artists in some of these battles, but I am still proud of what I can cook up.

If you want to check out my first serve you can go ahead, it was pretty bad. It's the first one on my site, in my sig. Anything goes, and like I said before, you never know until you try.

Good luck to ya man, and best wishes.

Heh, that's already an old, old joke in MN where I grew up. "How do you spell 'Canada'?"

I think the term "Canuckistan" is pretty funny, but maybe that's just me.

Start it up, and maybe I'll try out a Photoshop battle for the first time.

are these individual volleys, or volleys based on the preceding one?

if so, I'm avoiding the country & western volley... ugh.

Well, here it is. Im looking for input, i really tried to make the guitars cool but it didnt really work the way i wanted. The yellow kept coming out green. I tried playing with the levels but couldnt get any love.

I would love some advice! rock on!

Well, this serve is better (I saw you used that one for the Who are you contest, is it you in the photo?)
Pretty cool image, nice style and all, but I must say as a small comment, that the text looks a bit blury, but overall, nice serve.
