Continuing the competition and suggestion of several members, welcome to the fourth Flashkit Arena design challenge... and the first in a year.

Comments and critiques do not belong in this thread. Post those here

The Flashkit Arena design challenge

The idea of the challenge is to create visually stimulating work based on a monthly theme set by the Arena moderators (myself, Aversion and Jamble). It is open to anyone who wishes to enter and the only prize is kudos and a bit of fame - and a possible mention in the FK newsletter (read by over 100k people).

It's great practice and we hope will be a little fun for those who are struggling to think of a theme for their work!

I'm sure we'll be able to get the FK Admin, JStarkey to include the winner each month in the Flashkit newsletter with a link to their work so your graphic will potentially be seen by everyone that reads the newsletter.

Here we go then:

The Rules

• * 640*480 image size
  * no image larger than 130k filesize
  * .gif's, .png's and .jpg's allowed - please respect filesizes
  * images can be rotated - portrait or landscape
  * they must be based on the monthly theme set by the moderators
  * each game will last approximately 1 month

The Theme for March 2004

It's been a full year since the last one, and it's safe to assume that everybody in the Arena has improved tons... not it's time to show off those new skills and now we're going full-speed into this contest, Submissions should be based on this theme:

Who are you?

Yep, that's right. Via a graphic, you can show the world what makes you, well... you.

Reminder: Keep it clean folks. Flashkit is a G-Rated/G13 forum!

Please post, link, or upload all entries in this thread for the time being and don't be afraid to enter as many times as you want to, there are strictly speaking no prizes so it doesn't matter if you submit one or three hundred and fifty entries, the aim of it to have a little fun, show some skills and learn a little more about how other people and yourself design within a set theme. All entries should be posted in this thread.

I thought I would combine my entries, so as to keep the post count down and allow more images per page. I also have made thumbnail previews to keep the length of the thread down. Everyone else should do that same.

Well, here's what I got:

There was alot of time that went into this piece of... piece, so be happy.
Here's before and after pictures to prove it.

Entry 2
Like my other ocean scene, all the pictures used in this were taken by me and my digital camera. I really like making these ocean scenes, this is my second one now! I think I did too good of a job putting the water together though, you can't tell it's two different pictures of the ocean making the waves.

ok... I've gotten a couple of PM's... so I'll add some answers here.

This is not volley based; this is a collection of images as you see fit to create an image that fits the theme.

Winnners... it will be handled by the Flashkit mods - they will vote upon the images and give the criteria upon why they voted as such.

meh, well here's something, it turned out nothing near as good as i thought it might be, but then again, i was really just making it up as a whent allong. I'll have to have another go.
